This is a nice design – very edwardian styling, in blackwood – I believe there was 6 of them which makes them even rarer. circa 1900

This is a before shot of the chair in the #48 photo – built in south africa after the war – they were going to be thrown in the tip.

This chair was part of a large set (in photo # 49) that was so bad that they had put them out for the tip pile, they where built in south africa, beautiful wood, I plugged the old cane holes with a light timber to contrast the beautiful natural timber, the cost of recaning the chairs was way to high, the customer was over the moon at how they came out – I believe it was built by his grandfather after the war.

This was a side chair that I converted to a rocking chair – the chair itself is a rarity – A stickely design from America – means nothing over here but are worth a bundle over there – the client asked me to carve the ‘P Poppet’ the nickname for his little girl. The chair is american oak, Circa 1910

A maple rocker, probably north american as many of the rockers in this country are, circa 1950′s though the style ran from 1910 to the 1960′s.

One of the nicest I’ve found, American ash and maple drop down stroller/highchair, circa 1910. Found this in a Beechworth junk shop with 5 coats of yellow paint on it – what a find!

I built this chair to match a set of 5 side chairs – the style is french from about 1930 – solid oak – sometimes it’s better to build a chair or two too match your existing table and chair set rather than buy a whole new set just to have a few more chairs.
